D70 Schools Receive Grants and Donations

School‘s donation of $2,548.00 from Father John Powers Memorial was explained by Skyview's principal, Wendy James. The funds will be used to purchase Promethean boards and seven projectors. Pueblo County High School received a total donation of $840.

Snow Storm Pushes Annual VFC Yard Sale to June 3-5

The annual VFC estate and yard sale fundraiser has been rescheduled to the week of June 3 due to the snow storm over the weekend. It will be held Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, June 3-5, as usual at the Peaks to Prairie Community Center building at 4705 Santa Fe Drive, Colorado City.

Aggson Receives Excellence Award in Criminal Justice

Harlee Aggson, who is an 11th grader at Rye High School, received recognition from the Arts and Sciences Division at Pueblo Community College. She was a recipient of the Outstanding Student Excellence Award in Criminal Justice.

February 28, 2021, started as just another day for David Spicer; he was simply driving toward Pueblo on his day off when it all changed. Not too far north of Colorado City, about the 85-mile marker, another vehicle lost control and sideswiped Spicer’s pickup forcing it into the median.

River of Life Assembly of God Church, 8186 Highway 165 in Rye, will be having special services for the “Holy Week”. This coming Sunday, April 10th at 10:30 a.m. we will be celebrating Palm Sunday with special music and a message related to that event. Good Friday, April 15th from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
