D70 Schools Receive Grants and Donations

School‘s donation of $2,548.00 from Father John Powers Memorial was explained by Skyview's principal, Wendy James. The funds will be used to purchase Promethean boards and seven projectors. Pueblo County High School received a total donation of $840.

Snow Storm Pushes Annual VFC Yard Sale to June 3-5

The annual VFC estate and yard sale fundraiser has been rescheduled to the week of June 3 due to the snow storm over the weekend. It will be held Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, June 3-5, as usual at the Peaks to Prairie Community Center building at 4705 Santa Fe Drive, Colorado City.

Aggson Receives Excellence Award in Criminal Justice

Harlee Aggson, who is an 11th grader at Rye High School, received recognition from the Arts and Sciences Division at Pueblo Community College. She was a recipient of the Outstanding Student Excellence Award in Criminal Justice.

Spicer, from ICU to Winning Awards

February 28, 2021, started as just another day for David Spicer; he was simply driving toward Pueblo on his day off when it all changed. Not too far north of Colorado City, about the 85-mile marker, another vehicle lost control and sideswiped Spicer’s pickup forcing it into the median.

VFC Easter Egg Hunt Created Smiles

Greenhorn Meadows Park hopped to life Saturday, April 16, as approximately 100 children from the Greenhorn Valley came out to hunt Easter eggs and visit with the Easter bunny.

The Annual K-12 Student Art Show and Concert was held Wednesday, March 30, after being cancelled due to bad weather on the originally scheduled date of March 10. Many performers of all ages participated, and many different genres were represented.
