The Rye High School track team claimed eight medals at their own invitational when they hosted 25 teams on Friday the 19th. Isaiah Guzman claimed the gold medal with a triple jump of 42’ 10” to win the only individual gold of the day.

The Rye High School girls’ golf team won the 14 team Pueblo East Invitational Tournament held on April 19, at Walking Stick Golf Course in Pueblo. The Rye Lady Thunderbolts pulled out a single stroke win over 4A Pueblo West.

The Rye High School baseball team gave #5 ranked Peyton all they could handle but a disastrous 6th inning gave the visitors a 10-7 victory. Rye led the entire game until the 6th when they carried a 4-1 lead.

The Rye High School baseball team outscored a pair of opponents 47-3 last week and easily won three games to move their record to 5-3 and 2-1 in league play. On April 2, Rye hosted Florence and downed the visitors 17--2.

Isaiah Guzman won the gold medal in the triple jump at the Steel City Fast Track Invitational held at Dutch Clark Stadium last Friday with a wind aided leap of 41’9”. A second gold, almost went to RHS Senior Jaklyn Newitt who threw the shot put 31’2” but ended up settling for a silver medal instead. Newitt also threw the discus 94’2” which was good for 5th place.

The Rye High School girls’ soccer team knocked off the #5 team in 2A soccer on the 2nd of April when they downed Thomas MacLaren on the road 2-0. Angelina Atencio scored both goals on six shots taken.

March 12, 2022 was a historic day for Rye High School girls basketball, when the Lady Thunderbolts (26-1) downed the Limon Badgers (23-4) 56-55 on a last second field goal by senior Sydney Adamson. The victory went down in history as the finest finish for the girls program at RHS.

Fifteen 5A, 4A, and 3A teams competed at The Classical Academy Golf Tournament on Thursday March 28. The Rye golf team placed 4th, the highest 3A placer in the tournament.

The Rye High School track team competed in the Larry Pickering Invitational 2024 at Dutch Clark Stadium in Pueblo on Saturday, March 23. The meet was hosted by Pueblo Centennial High School.

The Rye High School Girls Soccer team took 44 shots on goal and downed Trinidad 10-0 on March 23 in Trinidad. Averi Velez and Angelina Atencio each scored three times, Niki Larson scored twice and Alexia Provenza and Abrianna Chianelli each had one goal. Atencio had a pair of assists and Velez had one assist.
