Thunderbolt Chance to Host Post Season is High

Tuesday, the Rye High School baseball team traveled to Fowler with the league championship and the opportunity to host first round playoff action in the balance. A complete report of those games will be in the paper next Thursday but you can watch at greenhornvalleyview.

Rye Baseball Team in Control of Post Season Destiny

“It seems like everything is coming together,” shared Head Coach Stacey Graham, after his Rye High School baseball team collected three important wins last week.

Last Week of Regular Season Track Will Answer State Bound Questions

teams in those events qualify for the state meet. The final meet of the regular season will be held at Pueblo West this Friday beginning at 3:00 p.m. In the balance is not only victory in the Pueblo West meet but the opportunity to qualify for the 18 spots at the state track meet in each 2A event.

Golf Team Captures Gold in Two Tournaments

The Rye High School Girls’ Golf team won the gold medal at the Hornet Invitational held at Hollydot Golf Course last Friday. Rye Shot a team score of 267 to beat runner up Pueblo West by three strokes.

Pueblo Central Falls to Rye Soccer Team 3-2

All the playoff hopes for the Rye High School girls’ soccer team boils down to this week, as the Thunderbolt squad plays in four matches to end the regular season. “All the games have to be turned in by Saturday,” shared Head Coach Mike Wing.

Rye Baseball Team Sweeps Las Animas on the Road

The Rye High School baseball team got a pair of much needed wins on the road as they swept a double header at Las Animas 13-4 and 13-0. In the opening game the Thunderbolts started slow, trailing the home team 2-1 after four innings.

“You get a glimpse of what kind of baseball team we could be,” shared Head Coach Stacey Graham. “I’m just trying to wrap my brain around what’s wrong. We focus on things and execute in practice and then we get to a game and there is no consistency.

Track Team Shows Well at Home Invitational

The Rye track team hosted their annual invitational track tournament last Friday with a total of 19 teams in attendance. Woodland Park won both the boys’ and girls’ meet. In the boys’ meet the victors scored 118 points. The Rye boys’ team placed 6th with 53 points.
