Local Graphic Novel Author and Illustrator Wins National Award

Jennifer Swartwood-Walker has won the 2024 American Legacy Book Award for Best Graphic Novel with her, The Ferrokin Origin series. The award went to Swartwood-Walker for her dedication to innovative storytelling and captivating narrative.

Rye Town Council April 10 Meeting

The Town of Rye held their regular monthly meeting on April 10, 2024, at the Town Hall on 2067 Main St., Rye. The meeting began at 6:00 p.m. Everyone was present.Jocelyn Ensley, Town Clerk, swore in Heidi Miller, Geoff Pagnotta, and Sandra Steele as Town of Rye Board of Trustees for a two-year term.

Marching Band Wins Place for First Time in Twenty Years

The Rye High School Marching Band placed 3rd in the Canon City Blossom Parade on Saturday, May 4. The Thunderbolts’ score of 66.91 was a mere .2 points behind runner-up Rocky Ford.This is the first time the Thunderbolts have placed in a parade competition since 2004.

Fine Weather Forecast for Hoppy Easter Egg Hunt and Bake Sale
