North Creek Fire Moved Fast

The first call came into Beulah Fire Protection and Ambulance District (BFPAD) at 12:58 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, with the dreaded word that there was a brush fire up NorthCreek. Things happened fast after that.

RFPD Responded to Semi-Truck Fire

Tuesday, April 11, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Rye Fire Protection District and Pueblo Sheriff’s Department were called to assist with a semi-truck tractor that was engulfed in flames on northbound I-25 near mile marker 79.

Ettleman Case Still Active Investigation

The Greenhorn Valley View checks each week regarding progress on the murder of long-time resident Fred Ettleman. Although we understand why the Pueblo Police Department would not want to tip their hand, we still feel that there should be some information.

CCMD Candidate Forum was Very Informative

There was not a dull moment during the Colorado City Metropolitan District (CCMD) candidate forum presented by the Greenhorn Valley View newspaper and hosted at the newly remodeled VFC’s Susan Kalman Peaks to Prairie Building.

From Rubble to Ravishing; Circle K Store is Now Open

The last weekend of March found Greenhorn Valley residents and I-25 travelers blessed with the opening of the shiny new Circle K facility at the intersection of Hwy 165 and I-25.

A Variety of Businesses Represented at the Chamber of Commerce EXPO

There was something of interest for everyone at the Greenhorn Valley Chamber of Commerce Business EXPO held on Saturday, April 8. Approximately fifteen businesses set up booths to share information about their business, sell their wares, and offer advertising materials.

Mountain Schools Receive Recognition in D70 School Board Meeting

During the April 4 District 70 Board of Education meeting, Pueblo County School District 70 Superintendent Ed Smith used his portion of the “Good News' time to talk about the Beulah School of Natural Sciences. Smith shared that the amazing Beulah school has less than 150 students.

RFPD Submitting to Cancel Special Election

During a special Rye Fire Protection District (RFPD) Meeting on March 13, Chief Bennett noted that only two people had submitted selfnominations for board positions, and no one submitted as a write-in candidate.
