Leo Louis ‘Louie’ Moreschini  By 1917, Louie Moreschini had purchased and was living on the ‘Iron Springs Ranch’ with his wife, Mary and mother, Marie. Louie was born in 1893 at Spring Gulch in Pitkin County, Colorado.  Louie was the second son of Domenico and Marie Mary Bonetti Morschini.

The Iron Springs RanchIron Spring is located north and slightly east of the water tower in Colorado City. This land was part of a homestead awarded to Nicholas Sheets in 1879. Nicholas and his wife Jerusha Workman Sheets settled on this land in 1872 and raised several children here.

The Watson George Moody Family

In the spring of 1906, Watson George Moody arrived at Idylwild, the new tuberculosis center in Rye, from Boston, Massachusetts on the stage from Graneros Station. His doctors recommended a dryer climate for his health and he decided to try the newer treatment methods at Idylwild.

Part IV of IVThe Daughters of Earl Edwin and Lucy Dixon Wilcox Lucy ‘Earlene’ Wilcox Robinson Earlene married Ulric Rimer ‘Bob’ Robinson in 1928 at Pueblo. He was born in Illinois, the son of Robert F. and Lucy Gallion Robinson. Bob served with the United States Marine Corps in World War I.

Part III of IVEarl Edwin Wilcox Earl was the sixth child of Andrew Jackson and Carrie Sarnes Wilcox. He spent his entire life farming and ranching; moving to Pueblo County with his family at the age of five. He grew up on his parents’ farm in Vineland, eventually taking over its operation.

Part I of IVThis large family settled in Pueblo, Vineland and Rye, intermarried with the Dixon and other Rye families and contributed to the growth and prosperity of the area. Many descendents remain in Pueblo County.Andrew Jackson Wilcox and Carrie Helen Sarnes were married in Nebraska in 1873.
