Buena Vista is the #1 ranked team in the state in 2A and there is a reason. In what Rye High School Head Football Coach Connor Pigg described as “two minutes of hell” late in the first half against Buena Vista last Friday, the game went from a 7-0 deficit to a 28-0 deficit.

RHS Finishes Strong in Final Regular Season Cross Country Meet

Rye High School did well at the Pueblo City/County Cross Country Championships 2025. The boys team placed second as a team, in a six-team field, and Rye’s David Maroney placed second as an individual in the 5000meter run held at the Elmwood Country Club Short Nine.

Volleyball Team on the Bubble to Host Post Season Matches

The Rye High School volleyball team downed Rocky Ford in three sets on the home court last Tuesday, but fell 3-2 in a hardfought loss on the road last Thursday at Swink.The Swink match went back and forth with Rye winning the 1st and 4th set and Swink winning the 2nd and 3rd.

Rye Fighting for Host Spot as Regular Season Nears an End

The Rye High School volleyball team won a league match against Walsenburg on October 9th to stay in second place in the Santa Fe League. On their home court, the Lady Thunderbolts downed their opponent in three straight sets: 25-19, 25-8, and 25-7.Isabella Bond had 10 kills and blocked three shots.

The Rye High School volleyball team celebrated Homecoming weekend with a 3-0 victory over Florence: 25-15, 25-19, and 2521. That gives Rye a 10-4 record overall and 4-1 in the league.Isabella Bond had 10 kills and four service aces against the Huskies.

Rye Wins Tough Gridiron Battle Against Peyton

According to Head Coach Connor Pigg, Rye’s 14-7 win over Peyton at Homecoming was a duel of punters and field position. Rye opened the game with a quick drive down the field featuring a big run by Jackson Bjorum and a short TD run by Beau Hicks. Rye’s ground game ended up with 149 yards.
