Baseball Team Has Shaky Start in Opener

The Rye baseball team opened their season in front of the home town crowd on Thursday March 5 when Pueblo East came to town.East pounded out 14 hits against four different pitchers and walked away with the opener by a score of 10-2.The Rye bats were fairly quiet, accumulating six hits.

Rye High School opened their 2026 track season at the CSUPueblo Early Bird 2026 track meet in Pueblo on March 7. Thirty-Four teams competed in the initial meet of the season.

Soccer Team Opens Season with a Win

On March 3 the Lady Thunderbolt Soccer team beat Ellicott on the home field 6-0. Angelina Atencio scored three goals in the first half and Niki Larson scored the other three goals in the second half. Emma Parish had one assist.

Boys Season Ends on Home Floor

The Rye High School boys basketball team ended their season on Tuesday February 24 with a 69-39 loss to Crowley County on the home court. Rye finished the season with a 6-15 record and a lone league win (1-12).

Boys Basketball Team Loses Two

The Rye Boys basketball team lost a pair of games last week. On Wednesday, February 18 they traveled to James Irwin and lost the game 56-48. On Friday, February 20 they hosted The Vanguard School and lost 82-50.

Wrestlers Win One Match at State Tournament

The season ended for the Rye High School Wrestling team last Thursday and Friday when the three wrestlers who placed in the top four in their respective weight classes won one match and lost six in the state tournament held at Ball Arena.Beau Hicks at 165 lbs.

The Rye High School girls basketball team lost a pair of games on the road this week as the regular season continues to wind down.On February 10, the Lady Thunderbolts traveled to Centauri where they received a beating from the #4 ranked team in 3A, 72-19.

Three Grapplers Qualify for State Tournament

The Rye High School wrestling team will take three wrestlers to the state tournament at Ball Arena in Denver this weekend with two finishing 5th and able to wrestle if someone in their bracket can not go to the tournament.North Fork High School won the team title with 242 points.

The Rye High School boys’ basketball continued to look for a victory last week against a pair of very tough opponents. On Tuesday, February 10, on the road, Rye fell to Centauri by a score of 56-18. The #25 ranked Falcons held Rye to two first half points in a one-sided contest.
