Dear Editor:
I truly enjoyed your part regional history, part social commentary article on the Hornbek Homestead. (GVV 2/17/22) I will day-trip there when, again, grasses green, meadow flowers bloom and bird songs assist in ushering in mountain rebirth. I want to experience more than peeking through smudged windows and checked log cracks while standing in snow.
Does that make me a sissy?
Ok, I’m a winter sissy.
I will also make certain to avoid the restroom facilities of national coffee chains starting with an “S.”
Might better hit a 7-11, Loaf ‘n Jug or Circle K. Coffee is cheaper and, in my opinion, just as good. Although they might lack menu depth. But, hey, I just want COFFEE and a clean rest room experience!
Most rewarding, was that your lighthearted article awakened in me recognition of that deeply encoded need for occasional adventure.
Spring in Colorado will allow me to scratch that itch without having to board a plane for a southern climate where I would be understandably unfamiliar with coffee and restroom venues of quality. Undoubtedly, more expensive to boot.
Thanks for elevating within me the joy of anticipating new adventures, small and large.
That’s a major part of why I love the small, staunchly loyal, small community flavor of the GVV.
It speaks my language.

Letter to the Editor: Now, let me get this straight -
Now, let me get this straight - -We stopped the Keystone Pipeline & all drilling on Federal lands for energy sources, due to it not being green (eco-friendly). But we still need oil and natural gas, so we get dirtier oil & gas from places like Russia and others overseas, that cost us twice as much. And it's shipped via tankers using huge amounts of diesel, polluting the atmosphere, for thousands of miles, including tankers, trucks, trains, etc. when it gets here. We have better quality sources right here, sent through clean pipelines that doesn't pollute anything???? What's the point??
The hypocrisy of this administration is beyond belief!!!
