Rye Area Educators Participate in Development Day

The District 70 academic calendar calls for professional development days for the district employees during which educators of all skill levels and years of experience come together to broaden their skills.

Friday, September 16, saw Rye High School and Craver Middle School staff gathered for a full day of professional development. The teams gathered for another opportunity to be lifelong learners. They actively engaged in learning skills to supply the educational needs of students in an ever-changing world and to enhance their teaching and service to their students. Required hours for a professional development day take place on a student-free day to provide educators the opportunity to participate, practice skills with gain feedback from their peers. The staff invests in their personal and professional growth in exercises that may cover literacy, numeracy, behavior management, curriculum changes, use of data, and discussions for planning.

The Rye area professional development activities offer the district a chance to present the school's strategic direction, and allow participants to increase their knowledge of D70 in general and the mountain schools in particular.
