VFW Post 7305 Annual Fundraiser Yard Sale Well Supported

VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS

Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 7305 would like to thank the Greenhorn Valley community for the generous support of their Annual Yard Sale, September 16 and 17.

They asked the community for donations of gently used items and, not only did they get plenty of donations, they also had a steady crowd of bargain shoppers buying their wares.

Any unsold items will be passed along to another organization.

The annual event is intended to supplement funds for expenses related to Post 7305. It is the only fundraiser that provides money for their own use; all other fundraising activities during the year are used for veteran assistance, to help those vets with needs.

VFW Post 7305 is a valuable and vital organization in the Greenhorn Valley. They host many patriotic, special events in addition to the Annual Yard Sale.

A few of their more prominent activities include ~The Memorial Day Observance, held at the Colorado City Cemetery to honor veterans.

~A complimentary 4th of July Picnic, with lunch and entertainment for veterans and their families.

~The American Flag Retirement Ceremony, to properly dispose of damaged flags.

~Essay Contests for local students, with the Patriot Pen contest for students in grades 6-12 and the Voice of Democracy for students in grades 7-12.

~A Holiday Luncheon, to celebrate the festive holiday season among fellow veterans and their families.

VFW Post 7305 meetings are held on the third Saturday of each month at the Lake Beckwith Marina.

A meet and greet kicks off at 9:00 a.m., with the meeting following at 10:00 a.m.

Anyone interested in attending the monthly meeting is asked to call 719-6763650 or 719-821-0782 for additional information.
