Six hundred and sixty-one signatures were gathered at the Colorado City Metro District (CCMD) Office for a petition letter to the United States Postal Service asking that Colorado City be given a regular Post Office.
According to CCMD District Manager James Eccher an overnight petition letter and packet were sent to Jason McMahill, District Manager with the USPS.
Packets were also sent to Brenda Baldwin and Doreen Hasner, Managers for the USPS.
Emails were sent to Cathy Garcia with House Representative Lauren Boebert’s office, Sara Blackhurst, Ed Rowland and Neil Elliot, CCMD Board Chairman.
The Greenhorn Valley View reached out to Garcia, Senator Hickenlooper’s office, and Senator Bennett’s office to see if any of them are pursuing a post office via their office. Hickenlooper and Bennett have not communicated with the View for three weeks.
James Boxrud, USPS, indicated he had no additional information to that released with a projected timetable of September 19, as the return of mail delivery to Colorado City.
