The 6th Annual Autumn Car Show, sponsored by the Colorado City/Rye Lions Club, will be held at Greenhorn Valley Park on Saturday, October 9, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and running until 3:00 p.m.

An anticipated 70-100 cars will join over 20 vendors for a family friendly day surrounded by cars of all makes, models and years, vendors, food, and probably a changing leaf or two in the park.

Registration is from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. and it is open to all makes and models. Registration is $30 for a car and $30 for vendors; and proceeds provide scholarships for Rye High School students, support for children’s eye care and Christmas food baskets and toys for needy families in the valley.

The Lions chuckwagon is prepared to feed 250 people with hamburgers, hot dogs, and brats on the grill. There is no admission for spectators but donations are accepted.

A panel of judges composed of participants, sponsors and spectators will select the People’s Choice Award. Plaques will be awarded to the top 20 cars with a trophy for the Best of Show.

Lions will be selling raffle tickets for door prizes and tickets for the 50/50 Drawing. Raffles and Door Prizes will be called every 30 minutes. Also, on the same day, the Rye Wrestling Club, run by Lindsey Peterson and her husband, to have a cornhole tournament as a fundraiser.

The 3rd annual Walker Family Coat Drive will also have a donation location at the show to collect coats. According to Jeremy Walker, last year the drive netted over 500 coats, and Walker hopes to surpass that number this year. The coats are gathered on Saturday and given away on Sunday.
