Director Ian Watson and Rye High School band members held a camp last week from Monday thru Saturday.
Watson described the attendees as a “mostly veteran member group,” and that they were “leagues ahead of where they were last year.”
Students are learning the music and are immersing themselves in the chosen show theme for the year of Treasure Island. Twentyfive attended on the first day.
The students focused on marching fundamentals and learning the music. Throughout the week the students will be learning the music and show drill. Our camp will continue into Saturday. The camp included anyone between 7th and 12th grade.
New members are still welcome as long as they get the necessary paperwork in before September 6 which will be the first field show of the season.
