Annual Rye Home UMC Fall Festival

It was a cool, fall day for the festival this year and people were slow to come out. The sun didn’t appear until the early afternoon, but there were a variety of booths with homemade crafts and wares and the church ladies had a variety of yummy pies with homemade ice cream.

Eighth Annual Lions Club Car Show Brings a Crowd

Despite a chilly start, the 2022 Colorado City/Rye Lions Club Car Show turned out spectacularly. Approximately 70 cars and over 20 vendors packed the Greenhorn Meadows Park on Saturday, October 8, in a vivid and varied display of vehicles and wares.

Rye High School Photography classes visited the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo on Wednesday September 28th. Mrs. Anglin, the photography teacher, has been taking students to the zoo for the last twelve years.

In the early morning of Saturday, October 1, the streets of Rye were quiet and calm in the cool air. Until approximately 8:45 a.m., when residents were treated to the clip-clop of hooves, cattle bawling, and the shouts of riders herding cattle along.

Stephanie Raleigh Loves Cutting Hair

Her mother knew that Stephanie Raleigh would grow up to cut hair. She knew it because when Stephanie was a little girl she cut her own hair and hid the evidence in her crayon boxes. “I’ve always enjoyed cutting hair,” shared Raleigh. She also has her cosmetology license. “I fell in love with it.
