Letters to the Editor

Letter to the Editor Good article ( Viewpoint: It’s Just a Barn). It is really sad seeing all the work and effort put in over the years to maintain things, and it can be gone in an instant.

Loren Kraus Letter to the Editor:

Beautiful dad!!! My memories of the barn will live on also!!!

Hey now, it's not 'just a barn'

Amber Packard, Franktown Publisher, Regarding Volume 21 / Issues 43 - 44:

My heartfelt gratitude goes out to Publisher/Editor, Terry Kraus, and Letters to the Editor contributor, Anthony C. Powers, for their courage and forthright honesty in addressing the topics of political assassination, fear mongering and a revisitation to Stephen Stills prophetic 1966 lyrics in For What It’s Worth. I congratulate both the GVV and its contributing readership on their tenacity to maintain an open and illuminating forum in small communities print media.

It is such that so strongly reflects and represents real America values so often tainted by an elitist media oligarchy. Thank you, gentlemen. Keep writing. We’re reading. The patriotic nourishments you offer are not only rewarding, they are necessary for our survival.

“ ... Give 'em the old razzle dazzle; Razzle dazzle 'em; ... Give 'em the old hocus pocus; ... Razzle dazzle 'em; And they'll never catch wise; ...' From the 1975 musical Chicago, 'Razzle Dazzle' has music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. The words served as advice by a lawyer to his client on how to sway a jury, but they currently bring to mind the Democrats' manipulative electioneering 'pranks' of late.

Earlier, Democrats held their primary between Biden, determined to run again, and two other candidates; Biden won every state with a sum total of 14 million votes and his reelection campaign was underway.

Although there were general suspicions that the president, through public demonstrations, was experiencing a deterioration of his cognitive abilities; his Democratic allies went into cover-up mode stressing that, through their day-to-day interactions, everything was normal with the president. Many wore out the statement, 'he's sharp as a tack.'

In his first debate of the 2024 campaign, President Biden struggled, meandering and mumbling through answers as millions of viewers took it all in. The administration followed up with multiple excuses for the poor performance: he had a cold, but attended a follow-on watch party and then a Waffle House visit; he studied too hard, too many facts to keep track of; jet lag from a trip nearly two weeks earlier, raising more questions about how long Biden requires to recover from travel; and finally, “I just had a bad night.”

Follow on polling results from key battleground states showed that the public wasn't buying it.

Principal Democrats, after observing the polls, determined they had a loser on their hands, and rumblings started that Biden should withdraw as a candidate.

After a couple of weeks of jousting with his adversaries, Biden withdrew his name as a candidate, endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris as a replacement. Funny, can any reader remember voting for Harris as President?

So, exit Biden stage right and enter Harris stage left (appropriately from the 'left' due to her radical political leanings). So the old razzle dazzle continues: '...

Razzle dazzle 'em; And they'll never catch wise.” – stay tuned!

Enough said.

All things visible are temporary. All things invisible are eternal.

Walt Harder, Salida Another Comment on Its Only a Barn Don't know if I ever told you this but the couple that were from Colorado that were killed were friends of mine....Gary and Kim Whitlow.....Kim's dad Nathan, and I went to high school together and were good friends.... The next day, we took off for Kansas with me driving Nathan and Glenda's van. We stopped and talked to the sheriff in Pratt...(super nice guy).

He took us out to the crash site and lets us look....Glenda walked out to the car with the sheriff,, picking up some of Kim and Gary's belongings. People gave us a place to spend the nights that we were there....again, super nice people. We finally came home after a few days.....We actually had some laughs while we were there....I was called ....'The chauffer ' Jerry Hewes, Pueblo
