Craver Class Learns During Unique Fieldtrip

The Craver Middle School Design and Modeling Gateway to Technology class has been studying flight and aerodynamics. As a culminating event, teacher George Pigg decided to take them on a unique field trip to Lonetree, CO where they visited the Ifly Indoor Skydiving facility.

The Greenhorn Valley Chamber of Commerce sponsored the Parade of Lights Saturday, December 18. Droves of locals lined Cuerno Verde to witness the event, officially ringing in the Christmas week with lots of holiday spirit and good cheer.

The year began the way the 2020 year ended, with an onagain, off-again decision about how to deal with COVID and the classroom. The district 70 Board of Education announced early in the new year that, effective January 18, Rye students were returning to full in-person learning.

At the November 10, Town of Rye meeting, Mayor Marty Rahl and the town trustees welcomed Richard Hopp as the new Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC). The end-of-month systems report was not available for October as the new ORC is learning the system.
