Memorial Day is a day of reflection and remembrance of the men and woman who have died while serving in the United States Armed Services. More than 1.3 million Americans have died in uniform since the Revolutionary War.This day of remembrance started as Decoration Day soon after the Civil War.

Craver FFA Students to Sell Hanging Flower Baskets May 21

Craver Middle School FFA students will hold a hanging basket sale from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.Thursday, May 21, outside the school greenhouse. The baskets, with flowers grown from seed by students, will sell for $20 each.

Rye Elementary School Spring Carnival: A Celebration of Fun

With the last day of school just three weeks away, there was no better way to celebrate a successful year than with a lively Spring Carnival. On the evening of Thursday, May 7, Rye Elementary School was transformed from a place of learning into a massive playroom for the Spring Carnival.

After just over a year in business, Teresa Rankin, owner and operator of Balance Bodyworks LLC, has now moved and expanded to a larger space which currently includes two other businesses new to Colorado City.

Teamwork for Fire Safety

May is National Wildfire Awareness Month, and the East Hatchet Ranch (EHR) Firewise volunteers are working to raise awareness about wildfire risks while encouraging proactive measures to prevent fires.

Ribbon Cut on New State of the Art Jail

At a ribbon cutting held on May 7, the Pueblo County Sheriff ’s Office officially celebrated the opening of the $150 million, 672 bed facility, which also houses a medical clinic, an infirmary, a full-service kitchen, laundry facilities, a large evidence storage area, and areas for inmate programs.
