Wrestlers Win One Match at State Tournament

The season ended for the Rye High School Wrestling team last Thursday and Friday when the three wrestlers who placed in the top four in their respective weight classes won one match and lost six in the state tournament held at Ball Arena.Beau Hicks at 165 lbs.

Tough Canon City Tournament Yields Only Seven Wins

The Rye High School wrestling team attended the 2026 Duff Seaney Invite in Canon City and to say it was a tough tournament was an understatement. Forty schools fielded 64 teams and the eight Rye wrestlers that attended ended up with a 7-16 record for the event and placed 36th out of the 40 schools.

The Rye High School Wrestling team placed third at the 2026 Custer County Bobcat Invite last Saturday with three wrestlers placing third and four wrestlers placing fourth. Custer County won their own tournament with 165 points in the 23-team tournament. Rye had 113.

Girls Basketball at Colorado Springs

The Rye High School girls basketball team split a pair of games against Colorado Springs opponents and continue to have a winning season with a 7-5 record overall and a 4-2 record in league play.Last Tuesday, Rye traveled to Colorado Springs Christian School and limped home after a 73-25 loss.

Boys Basketball Sees a Pair of Losses

The Rye Boys basketball team fell to .500 with a pair of losses last week. Rye has won only 1 of their last five games.Last Tuesday on the 20th Rye traveled to Colorado Springs Christian School and traveled home with an 80-62 loss.CSCS increased their lead every quarter but the final one.

Girls Roundball Goes 2-2 in Busy Week

The Rye High School girls basketball team had a busy week last week, winning two games and losing two others. The 2-2 week gives the Lady T’s a 6-4 record for the season and a 3-1 record in league play.Last Monday, Rye traveled to Sargeant and came home on the wrong side of a 55-28 score.
