Gallegos Takes Over Track Team Helm

Catherine Gallegos has spent eight years working with the Rye High School Track Team as the girls Head Coach. This year she has taken over the helm as the Head Track Coach in its entirety. In addition to track she also has three years’ experience as the assistant soccer coach.

Baseball Nine Come from Behind for Victory on the Road

The Rye High School baseball team evened up their season with a come from behind victory over Gunnison on the road 7-6.Going into the top on the ninth the Thunderbolts were down 6-4 and had only scored one run in the prior four innings.

Baseball Team Has Shaky Start in Opener

The Rye baseball team opened their season in front of the home town crowd on Thursday March 5 when Pueblo East came to town.East pounded out 14 hits against four different pitchers and walked away with the opener by a score of 10-2.The Rye bats were fairly quiet, accumulating six hits.

Track Team Starts Out with CSU

Rye High School opened their 2026 track season at the CSUPueblo Early Bird 2026 track meet in Pueblo on March 7. Thirty-Four teams competed in the initial meet of the season.

Soccer Team Opens Season with a Win

On March 3 the Lady Thunderbolt Soccer team beat Ellicott on the home field 6-0. Angelina Atencio scored three goals in the first half and Niki Larson scored the other three goals in the second half. Emma Parish had one assist.

Boys Season Ends on Home Floor

The Rye High School boys basketball team ended their season on Tuesday February 24 with a 69-39 loss to Crowley County on the home court. Rye finished the season with a 6-15 record and a lone league win (1-12).

Boys Basketball Team Loses Two

The Rye Boys basketball team lost a pair of games last week. On Wednesday, February 18 they traveled to James Irwin and lost the game 56-48. On Friday, February 20 they hosted The Vanguard School and lost 82-50.

Girls Team Has Slim Playoff Chance Going Into Last Week

It’s win or go home this week for the Rye High School girls basketball team. The girls are currently ranked #30 for the opportunity for post-season play with three games left. There record in 8-12 and probably will have to win out for a chance at post season.
