The Rye High School track team had a solid showing at the Husky Invitational held in Florence on April 18. Twenty-three teams attended the meet. Rye athletes who placed in the top ten in each event were led by David Maroney, who won two gold medals in the meet.

The Rye Thunderbolt baseball team was able to hold Colorado Springs Christian School to zero runs and zero hits on Wednesday the 15th. Rye’s main starting pitcher, Senior, Branson Burbidge was out with a wrist injury which makes this win look even more impressive.

Rye High School Girls Golf Team Captures League Championship

The Rye High School girls golf team captured the Santa Fe/ Tri-Peaks League golf championship held at the Hollydot Golf Course on Thursday, April 9th and captured the team championship at the Centennial Bulldog Invitational held at Walkingstick in Pueblo the day before!

Rye Drops Baseball Double Header to Fowler

The Rye High School baseball team had a rough week last week dropping a double header to league opponent Fowler 7-5 and 17-7.In the opening game, Rye outhit Fowler six hits to three, and both teams had three errors, but mental errors and six walks made the difference.

Track Team Competes in Back-to-Back Meets

The Rye High School track team competed in both the Ray Headley Invitational meet hosted by Swink High School on Friday, April 10; and the Thunder-Storm Invitational hosted by Pueblo West High School at CSU-Pueblo on April 11.At the Ray Headley Invitationa, l Rye had 11 personal records.

Rye’s Girls Soccer Team Skates Past Fountain Valley Reaching the Halfway Mark

On Tuesday, April 7 the girls soccer team was able to handle Fountain Valley pretty well beating them 5-2. This is a big win for the Lady Bolts considering last year, Fountain Valley won 50.Angelina Atencio had an outstanding game scoring four of the five goals for the team.

“I think we were still on spring break,” commented Rye High School Head Baseball Coach Stacey Graham about the 15-0 loss to Lamar on March 30.The Thunderbolts managed a lone hit, the team committed a pair of errors, gave up a dozen hits and five unearned runs.

Ruiz Begins Golf Season with Five Returning Letter Winners

Erin Ruiz is beginning her second year as the head coach of the girls golf program at Rye High School. She also has served as the assistant girls soccer coach for three years. And was Head Golf Coach for both the boys and girls at John Mall High School in Walsenburg for two years.
