Wrestlers Start Season off Well

The Rye High School Wrestling team began tournament action at the Fowler Grizzly Invitational on December 7th.Home team Fowler won the 16team event with a team score of 153 points. The Rye Thunderbolts came in 8th with 74 team points.

Rye Season Ends at State Volleyball Tournament

The Rye High School volleyball team won the opening round of the State Tournament but then dropped a match to eventual state champion Sedgewick County, 3-0, and a 3-0 loss to Del Norte.Rye won their opener 3-2 over Vail Christian: 19-25, 25-16, 25--17, 17-25, and 15-9.

Maroney places 14th at Cross Country State Tournament

Junior David Maroney placed 14th in the 2A boys 5000-meter cross country race held on November 2 at Norris Penrose Events Center in Colorado Springs. Maroney ran the race in a time of 17:09.67 about 32 seconds slower than his 2A regional mark last week.

Rye Seeded Seventh, Will Host Regional Action

The Rye High School volleyball team closed the regular season with a pair of wins and go into the post season as the #7 ranked team in the state.On October 28 Rye traveled to Pueblo Centennial and dispatched the home team 26-24, 25-10, and 25-13.

Rye Closes the Season with a Gridiron Victory

The Rye High School football team ended the season on a winning note, but they probably would have rather done it on the football field. Their scheduled match-up with Dolores Huerta Prep never happened. The visitors forfeited, leaving Rye with a 2-7 record for the year. DHP ended up 1-8.

Rye Gridiron Woes Continue

The gridiron woes of the young Rye High School football team continued last Friday when they traveled to Colorado Springs and faced the #1 ranked passer in 1A. The Colorado Springs Christian School home team defeated Rye 52-0.

Rye Gets Win Over Swink in Solid Week

It was redemption time for the Rye High School girls volleyball team on October 17th when they hosted Swink and downed them in three straight sets: 25-15; 2927; 25-22. On September 12 in Swink, they lost three straight sets.“Our match against Swink was redemption,” shared Head Coach Michele Roy.
