The last of our election series is for District 60 in the Colorado House of Representatives. Stephanie Luck, Penrose, was the incumbent in District 47 but now serves District 60. She won her first election in 2020.

Greenhands Explored FFA at BIG Conference

Area high school students who are new to Future Farmers of America (FFA), had a chance to attend the annual FFA “Being Involved as a Greenhand” (BIG) Conference.

Book Club Meets Bestselling Author

At the October 24 meeting, many members of the Greenhorn Valley Book Club were planning to attend the All Pueblo Reads Public Author Talk featuring Alka Joshi. The event was held at the Rawlings Library in Pueblo from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 26.

Community is Grateful for Clean Up Day

Residents of the Greenhorn Valley turned out in droves to take advantage of the free Community Clean Up Day. Vehicles started lining up in the Colorado City Rec Center parking lot at about 6:30 a.m. to take advantage of this great community event.

Resignation Leaves Opening on RFPD Board

Fire Chief Steve Bennett announced at the Monday, October 21, Rye Fire Protection District (RFPD board meeting that he had received a resignation letter from board member Dan Wachob. The board reviewed the letter and voted to accept Wachob’s resignation.

No Matter How You Measure It this Fall has been Hot

the devastation and ongoing emergency in Florida, we can hardly complain about high temperatures in Colorado. However, with the prediction of a fall freeze, we wanted to evaluate just how unseasonable hot and dry it has been and how far summer extended itself into September and October this year.
