Red Ribbon Week was celebrated in a big way at Rye with a visit from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Army flying in over the goalposts and settling on the Rye High School football field in a Black Hawk helicopter.

Misty Sprague, founding member of Valley First, and current volunteer Executive Director, was named the winner of the Community Service Award presented by the former YWCA of Pueblo (now the Mariposa Center for Safety) on October 5, in the Ryals Room at the Rawlings Library.

Car Show Celebrates Ten Years

Can you believe it’s been ten years already? The 10th Annual Colorado City/Rye Lions Club Car Show and Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, beginning at 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Registration for cars will be from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. The registration fee is $30 for cars and vendors.
