Rye Thunderbolt Band is Keeping Busy

The Rye Thunderbolt Band has had quite a year this 2022-23 school season! The band/music department has been expanding in leaps and bounds since music director Ian Watson came to Rye in 2021. This is especially noticeable with all the recent year-end activities.

Rye Golf Team Places Second in

The Rye High School Girls Golf Team placed second in their own invitational. Salida captured the team gold with a score of 259, nine strokes ahead of the Thunderbolts who garnered the silver. Salida’s Kyndra Johnson was the medalist with a score of 75.

We are excited to announce that VFC’s free pantries are moving to a new location! Our regular Stella’s Open Pantry will be at the Peaks to Prairie Community Center, 4705 Santa Fe Drive, on the fourth Saturday of this month, May 27, from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

About 100 people attended the 1st Annual Hall of Fame Ceremony and Athletic Banquet held at Rye High School on May 13th. Family members of Jerry Kersey, family members of Paul Defoyd, and Seth Baker were in attendance as the Class of 2023 inductees were enshrined in the Hall of Fame.

The First Annual Rye High School Hall of Fame Ceremony and Athletic Fundraiser is almost here. The event will be held on May 13, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Rye High School. Tickets can be purchased for twenty dollars each. Each ticket will include entrance to the event and a pulled pork BBQ dinner.
