Book Club Enjoyed Woman of Light

The book reviewed at the Daytime Book Club meeting at the Greenhorn Valley Library on June 26 was Woman of Light. It is the first novel by Kali Fajardo-Anstine, who previously published a collection of short stories titled Sabrina and Corina. Most club members were captivated by the novel.

Slash Collection at 12 Mile Gravel Pit

The United States Forest Service is sponsoring a mitigation slash collection event for property owners in or near the towns of San Isabel, Beulah, and Rye, Colorado, on Saturday, May 31. This event, part of the San Carlos Ranger District Slash Collection, will run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

RCC Saddle Club Prepares for the 2025 Season

The Rye-Colorado City Saddle Club is saddling up to kick off its 2025 season. Gymkhana sessions have a new schedule and will now take place every Thursday from May 29 until August 7. Registration for the gymkhanas begins at 6:00 p.m., with the events starting at 6:30 p.m.

Residents Grateful for Community Clean-Up Event

Residents of Greenhorn Valley expressed their gratitude for the Community Clean-Up Day held on Saturday, May 17, at the Colorado City Rec Center. This spring event provided a valuable opportunity for residents to tidy up their properties.
