Maggie Drew Peters’ Memorial Plunge on March 23

For the seventh time, supporters and well wishers will take to the cold waters of Lake Beckwith to raise money for the Maggie Drew Peters’ Memorial Polar Plunge. This year the plunge will be in March instead of the usual November date, but the purpose is the same.

Biden and Trump Win Primary Presidential Election

There were no surprises in the Presidential Primary Election on March 5, in Pueblo County.President Joe Biden garnered 13,572 of the 15,098 ballots cast. Marianne Williamson received the second most votes with 486.

The National Weather Service warned of a windy weekend on the way and they were not kidding.High winds began their assault on the Greenhorn Valley on Friday, March 1, and seemed to peak in the area during the evening of Saturday, March 2, and into the early morning hours of Sunday, March 3.

Three Active Fires North of Pueblo

On March 2, 2024, 5:00 a.m. the Pueblo County Sheriff ’s office issued a Red Flag Alert, with no burning allowed in Pueblo County.Three active fires are burning north of Pueblo. The Range 153 fire is located approximately 10 miles SW of Fountain, or 4.7 miles S or Colorado Springs.
