“See You at the Pole” Event an Uplifting Experience

On Wednesday, September 24, the Rye High School (RHS) Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) hosted a community invited “See You at the Pole” event.Despite the early hour, the event took place at 6:45 a.m., with a slight chill in the air.

Metro Town Hall Focuses on Utility Changes

The Colorado City Metro District (CCMD) held a Town Hall meeting on September 23, at the CCMD headquarters. About a dozen citizens attended and had the chance to visit with District Manager James Eccher and Board Members Ray Davis, Karim Ayoub, and Bob Sievert.

MacLeod Enjoys Her New Job

Katherine MacLeod took over as the Branch Manager of the Pueblo City County Library District (PCCLD) Greenhorn Valley Library in May 2025. She was already well-acquainted with the role, having been employed at the library since 2018, starting as a book-shelver.

Rye High School Knowledge Bowl Team Begins Season

The Rye High team began their 25-26 season competing in the Arkansas Valley Knowledge Bowl League with a meet at Pueblo Central HS on Thursday, Sept. 18th. After losing five seniors to graduation last year, this year’s team has only four returning members.

Bailey Retires after 38 Years of Service to the Colorado City Metro District

A retirement party was held for Greg Bailey by the Colorado City Metro District (CCMD) on September 12, at the Round Table Restaurant, Hollydot Golf Course. About 60 people were in attendance, including coworkers, friends and community members.

Early Release Days for Students

Pueblo County School District 70 has scheduled two early release days for PreK, elementary and middle schools on Thursday, September 25, 2025, and Thursday, May 14, 2026.PreK releases at 10:50 a.m., elementary schools release at 11:45 a.m., and middle schools release at 12:15 p.m.
