Rye High School track coach and educator Connor Pigg was one of the speakers at a CHSCA (Colorado High School Coaches Association) coaches clinic February 4-5 in preparation for the upcoming season.

The Greenhorn Valley Chamber of Commerce held a well-attended meeting on Monday, March 7. The meetings have been moved from Thursdays to the first Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Participants are given the option of attending the live meeting at the Greenhorn Valley Library or attending via Zoom.

Mask Requirement for Busses Removed

At the March 1, Pueblo Public School District 70 board meeting, Rye’s own John Christenson had the pleasure of announcing that, according to Centers for Disease Control and Pueblo Department of Health and Environment guidelines, masking would not be required on school buses in the near future.

Huerfano Road Fire Contained at 230 Acres

The Rye Fire Protection District assisted other wildfire agencies last Wednesday at the Huerfano Road fire with one engine and two personnel for the initial attack. That fire was reported in the 6200 block of Huerfano Road in SE Pueblo County by the Pueblo County Sheriff’s office.
