Annual K-12 Student Art Show and Concert

The Annual K-12 Student Art Show and Concert was held Wednesday, March 30, after being cancelled due to bad weather on the originally scheduled date of March 10. Many performers of all ages participated, and many different genres were represented.

CCMD Executive Session to Study Job Descriptions

Part one of the March 29, Colorado City Metropolitan District (CCMD) Board meeting ended in an adjournment to executive session as per Statute 24-6-402-4 of the Colorado Revised Statutes for a discussion of District Manager Jim Eccher and CCMD Finance Manager Yvonne Barron’s positions.

Chamber Moving Forward with Business EXPO Plans

The Greenhorn Valley Chamber of Commerce is moving forward with plans for the annual Business Expo, which has been upgraded to include a Casino Night event played with funny money. The Business Expo and Casino Night will be held on June 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Craver Middle School.

Ballots for Metro Election will be Mailed Monday

According to the Pueblo County Elections department, ballots will be mailed out next Monday, April 11th. Only the Colorado City Metro District and the Pueblo West Metro District have elections on the ballot.

Pueblo Born Purcell Takes District Wildlife Manager Position

Cody Purcell began his first day of work as the Colorado City/Rye District Wildlife Manager on Monday, and was feeling quite at home. Purcell and wife Moriah are both Pueblo natives and their families still live in the Pueblo area.

Community Garden Plots Available in Colorado City

Spring is here, and it’s time to start your garden! The community garden offered by Volunteers for Community (VFC) is now available for gardeners to use. The garden is conveniently located next to the swimming pool in Colorado City.

Ambulance Receives Minimal Damage Due to Driver’s Quick Thinking

The Rye Fire Protection District’s (RFPD) ambulance was involved in a fender bender during a recent February snowstorm that could have been so much worse. RFPD personnel was answering a call regarding a car that had slid into the guard rail on Interstate 25 at Greenhorn Hill.
