Rye Tops 2A Knowledge Bowl Standings

With two of the four Knowledge Bowl matches for the season completed, Rye High School leads all 2A schools in the area and is 5th place overall in varsity competition.
4A Pueblo County won the initial meet of the season with a score of 66 and finished second to Lamar in the second meet.

CCMD Public Hearing Set Up for November 22

The October 25, Colorado City Metropolitan District (CCMD) Board Meeting brought to light several issues of high importance to Colorado City residents.
A motion has been passed by the board to set a moratorium on taps through December 2022, allowing those that are already in process to proceed.

RHS praised in D70 Board of Education Meeting

During the October 18, District 70 Board of Education meeting, Pueblo County Education Association President Allison Balas praised Rye High School (RHS) for offering their new Personal Finance Class. Balas shared that this is the first time the class has been available at RHS.

I don’t recall any of our adventures, up to this point, including saloon girls. But our trip to Silverton, Colorado did. Silverton sits at an altitude of 9,003 feet and a population of 10,484 (2020), but the “working” girls of Silverton come from all over.

Kirkland Construction Donates Parking Place for RFPD Truck

Through no fault of their own, the Rye Fire Protection Department (RFPD) was in a bit of a pickle. They were gifted a very valuable, muchneeded hazardous materials truck and all the equipment with it, and one of the stipulations to the gift was that it had to be stored inside.
