RFPD Receives Donation

Rye Fire Protection District has received a donation of a digital laryngoscope along with a supply of disposable blades. This valuable machine was donated via an RFPD employee who also works with the Salida Fire Department and obtained the donation through them.

Pineda Enjoys Helping Students Acquire a Second Language

Luis Pineda joined the Rye High School team as the Spanish teacher this year. He is in his 22nd year in education, with most of those years teaching at the elementary level. He comes to Rye after teaching fourth grade at Cedar Ridge Elementary.

The Colorado City Metro District Board of Directors decided to bite the bullet, and raised rates between 20%-45% in an effort to meet the current capital needs of the district without scraping by with smaller increases year after year.

The 2023 Rye Elementary School Carnival was a huge success. In addition to games, and prizes the fifth-grade students offered a pasta dinner, with proceeds going to end of year activities. There was also the sale of large, healthy plants from Harlie’s greenhouse.
