Rye Fighting for Host Spot as Regular Season Nears an End

The Rye High School volleyball team won a league match against Walsenburg on October 9th to stay in second place in the Santa Fe League. On their home court, the Lady Thunderbolts downed their opponent in three straight sets: 25-19, 25-8, and 25-7.Isabella Bond had 10 kills and blocked three shots.

The Rye High School volleyball team celebrated Homecoming weekend with a 3-0 victory over Florence: 25-15, 25-19, and 2521. That gives Rye a 10-4 record overall and 4-1 in the league.Isabella Bond had 10 kills and four service aces against the Huskies.

Rye Wins Tough Gridiron Battle Against Peyton

According to Head Coach Connor Pigg, Rye’s 14-7 win over Peyton at Homecoming was a duel of punters and field position. Rye opened the game with a quick drive down the field featuring a big run by Jackson Bjorum and a short TD run by Beau Hicks. Rye’s ground game ended up with 149 yards.

Cross Country Team Competes in Salida Classic

The Rye High School Cross Country team traveled to the Salida Cross Country Classic 2025 on October 4 to participate with 15 other high school teams.In the boys’ 5000 meters, Corbin Walker of Columbine ran the course in 17:32 to claim the gold medal. Regis Jesuit was the top team with 46 points.

Thunderbolts Come Out on Top of Dog Fight with Woodland Park

For the 5th consecutive week, the Rye Thunderbolt football team was on the road and summed up by Head Coach Connor Pigg in a “dog fight”. But when the final horn sounded the Thunderbolts had an impressive 20-13 come from behind victory.

Rye Golf Team Finishes Second Twice

The Rye High School golf team finished second in a pair of tournaments last week.On September 22 Rye attended the Swallows Charter Academy Boys Invitational and finished second as a team with a score of 253, second to only Monte Vista who had a team score of 247.

Cross-Country Team Shows Well at Rampart

The Rye High School Cross-Country team traveled to Colorado Springs on the 26th of September to attend the Rampart Koziuk Classic Invitational. Another 21 schools joined them.

Volleyball Team Splits Matches Last Week

The Rye High School volleyball team split a pair of matches last week to go into this week with a 9-4 record overall and a 4-1 record in league.On September 23, the Lady Thunderbolts hosted Fowler on the home court and ended up with a 3-2 win.

The Rye High School volleyball team went 2-2 for the week, moving their season record to 8-3. In the league they are 3-1.Rye traveled to Hoehne on the 16th and won 3-0 against Hoehne, with scores of 25-14, 2513, and 25-8.Isabella Bond had 11 kills and blocked a pair of shots in the victory.
