Boys Roundball Team Wins First Two

New coach Lane Sherwood and the 2022-23 edition of the Rye High School boys basketball team won their first two games of the season on their home court last weekend. On Thursday night, Rye dominated Swallows Academy 55-12.

Young Wrestling Team Will Open Season at Home Tonight

Billy Forell begins his fourth year as Head Coach of the Rye High School wrestling team. The team will officially open the season, tonight, when they host a dual with Woodland Park at 6:00 p.m. at the Rye High School gym.

Four T-Bolt Volleyball Players Receive League Honors

Three Rye High School volleyball players were named to the Santa Fe League first team and one received honorable mention in balloting by the league coaches. Not only did the four garner awards for the Lady T’s, but all four are underclassmen and can return to Rye volleyball next year.

New Head Coach Sherwood Looks Forward to 3A Challenges in Tri-Peaks League

Lane Sherwood takes the reins this year as the new Rye High School Boys Basketball Coach. Sherwood served as the JV Coach for the basketball team last year and makes the move to Head Coach this year, in his first year as a Head Coach.

Rolling Thunder State Bound in Initial Season

The Rye High School Rolling Thunder Unified Bowling Team, in their first season of competition will be going to State. Last Thursday, November 10th, Big Daddy’s Sunset Bowl was the scene of the Regional Final.

Yuma Size Overcomes Rye in Post Season Play

The Rye High School football team led 6-0 in the first quarter of post season play against Yuma, but Yuma’s very large offensive line pushed the ball down the field again and again in a 426 loss for the Thunderbolts that was much closer than the score would indicate.

Volleyball Season Ends on Home Court

Things didn’t end the way Rye High School volleyball coach Michelle Roy hoped but was proud of the way the team ended the 2022 volleyball season. “We didn’t finish out how we had hoped,” shared Roy.

Rye loses 3-2 to Sanford in Final Regular Season Match

The Sanford-Rye volleyball match last Saturday lived up to the pre-match hype, with the #15 ranked Indians downing the #12 ranked Thunderbolts 3-2 in a game with a lot of back-and-forth action. Rye won the opener 25-21, dropped the second match 25-23, and won the third 2521.

Thunderbolts Travel to Yuma for First Round Playoff Action

The Santa Fe League Champion Rye Thunderbolts will travel 255 miles to Yuma for a first-round playoff contest in the 1A State Post Season. Yuma is seeded #5 in the 1A standings and host the game beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 5.

Volleyball Team Hosts Yuma and North Fork in Regional Action

While the Rye Football team travels the 255 miles to Yuma, the Yuma volleyball team makes the same distance trek to the Thunderdome for volleyball regionals on Saturday. Rye who ended the season ranked #12 in 2A volleyball, will host #13 ranked North Fork and #25 ranked Yuma.
