The 2025 Colorado City Rye Lions Club Car Show might have been a perfect event if it weren’t for the wind. Nevertheless, the blustery conditions didn’t deter many spectators, as the day remained warm and dry, offering an abundance of attractions.

Those traveling Hwy 165 on Thursday, October 9, may have had a startling surprise to find the highway blocked near the Applewood entrance by a semi across the road. Reportedly, shortly after 5:30 p.m., the semi driver turned onto Hwy 165 to access the Cuerno Verde Rest Area.

Senseless Vandalism Leaves the Community Outraged and Disappointed

Halloween Town in Rye, Colorado, is a significant event for the community. Main Street is closed off, and homes and businesses along the street are elaborately decorated. Community members line the streets with decorated vehicles to distribute treats.
