Community Turns Out for Meeting Regarding Postal Service

Colorado City residents want a post office. This was the message relayed loud and clear at a packed community meeting held on August 22. After several turbulent years of simply trying to get their mail, residents are fed up and want a better solution.

Crime Increase ‘No Mystery’ Says Top County Law Enforcement Officer

For the first time in years, the crime rate in Pueblo County rose in 2021 and, for District Attorney Jeff Chostner, it isn’t a mystery. “In 2018 the crime rate dropped 10%,” shared the Chief Law Enforcement Officer of Pueblo County Monday afternoon. “In 2019, it dropped 17%.

The Rye Fire Protection District (RFPD) meeting of August 15 was brief with a full quorum present and items of business moved rapidly. Fire Chief Bennett reported that RFPD staffing is good at this time.
