A Day at the St. Charles River

Pack a lunch and follow the boat ramp at Lake Isabel down to lake’s edge; at the ramp go right and follow the sunny path around the lake to the west. As you reach the west edge you will find a trail leading into the forest to your right.

July Gardening Tasks

Water shrubs and trees during extended dry periods. Newly planted shrubs and trees should be watered regularly until the roots are well established. Mulch beds to conserve moisture and keep weeds in check. Replenish mulch that has deteriorated or blown away.

Clark Encourages Others to Try Xeriscaping

When Ada Clark became concerned about possible water shortages in the Colorado City area, she decided she wanted to lead by example and try xeriscaping. “I want to encourage others to do this so we don’t use our water foolishly,” Clark shared.

Local Lakes are Well-Stocked with Fish

Colorado’s fishing opportunities are as diverse as its terrain. The Greenhorn Valley is blessed to have both Lake Isabel and Lake Beckwith fully stocked for our summertime fishing entertainment.

When Terry and Lori set off on a great adventure it can start at a Lake and end up at the Continental Divide. You have to be flexible when you are on a great adventure. Last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we spent time in the Buena Vista area. One of our primary purposes was to find Turquoise Lake.
