Rye Fire Protection District (RFPD) held their monthly meeting before a full house of spectators on Monday, March 17.Creating a surprise ending to the meeting, Fire Chief Steve Bennett submitted his notice of retirement to the board effective April 1, 2025.

Catherine Gallegos is in her 8th year as the Head Girls Track Coach at Rye High School. Her primary focus is distance and sprints and unlike many of the RHS coaches who have coached several sports, Gallegos is a specialist in track.

The February 12 meeting of the Town of Rye was attended by all board members, Greg Colter of Colorado Rural Water and Jocelyn Ensley, Town Clerk.The board reviewed quotes collected by Jocelyn Ensley for a local Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to perform the annual 2024 audit exemption.
