Tragic Train Derailment Leaves I-25 Closed

As of Tuesday morning, October 17, Interstate 25 remained closed in both directions just north of Pueblo with no update available as to when it would reopen. The closure occurred when a train derailment led to the partial collapse of an overpass over Interstate 25 on Sunday afternoon, October 15.

District 70 Schools Presented Performance Banners

Pueblo County School District 70 Superintendent Ronda Rein announced during the October 10 Board of Education meeting that 22 out of the 26 D70 schools had won performance awards.

Colorado City/Rye Lions Club Car Show and Craft Fair this Saturday

The 9th Annual Colorado City/Rye Lions Club Car Show and Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 beginning at 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Registration for cars will be from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. The registration fee is $30 for cars and vendors.

6th Annual Coat Drive Part of Lions Car Show

As it has been for several years the 6th annual Walker Family Coat Drive will be part of the 9th Annual Colorado City/Rye Lions Club Car show and Craft Fair on October 14th. Coats, gloves, sweaters and boots will be collected at the car show.
