“I’ll Be Home for Christmas” Scheduled for Three Shows at Memorial Hall

Musical Community Productions (MCP), made up of 65-70 local Pueblo members, is producing its 32nd annual Christmas production this year. The heart-warming classic, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” takes the audience back to 1941, when live radio was a part of the family.

RHS Receives Governor’s Bright Spot Award

Rye High School was one of 16 Colorado schools receiving Bright Spot Award funds from Governor Polis on November 2. RHS will receive $50,000 and was recognized as being among the best in science achievement. The money comes from the Federal Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER).

Veteran Stan Abel Presented Valor Quilt by Scrappy Ladies

Rosemary Holland Silver Heart, Purple Heart, and Vietnam Marine Service Medal recipient Stan Abel was presented with a Valor Quilt by the Colorado City Scrappy Ladies Quilt Guild. Abel was a Marine in Vietnam. Abel shared his Marine career experiences.

BIG Welcome for New FFA Members

Rye High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) members in the Ag One class attended the annual Being Involved as a Greenhand (BIG) conference at the Colorado State Fair Grounds in Pueblo on September 21.

Kalman Returns to Visit VFC

Susan Kalman returned to visit Colorado City last week and was greeted with a potluck breakfast at the Susan Kalman Peaks to Prairie Community Center.

With a welcoming smile and warm attitude Stephanie Guilliams, counselor at Rye High School, immediately makes people feel comfortable. Even better she says that RHS feels like home to her since she has been coming to the area since she was 16 years of age.
