The National Weather Service warned of a windy weekend on the way and they were not kidding.High winds began their assault on the Greenhorn Valley on Friday, March 1, and seemed to peak in the area during the evening of Saturday, March 2, and into the early morning hours of Sunday, March 3.

On March 2, 2024, 5:00 a.m. the Pueblo County Sheriff ’s office issued a Red Flag Alert, with no burning allowed in Pueblo County.Three active fires are burning north of Pueblo. The Range 153 fire is located approximately 10 miles SW of Fountain, or 4.7 miles S or Colorado Springs.

Thunderbolt Winter Guard Team Shines at Competition

Rye High School has its firstever Winter Guard team and they literally shone at their first competition. The eight-person team, their coaches, their director, and other supporting volunteers, had a long tough day on Saturday, February 10.

RHS Knowledge Bowl Team Qualifies for State

The Rye High School Knowledge Bowl team claimed First place in the 2A classification at the Regional Tournament on Friday, February 2, and will be headed for the state tournament on March 11-12.
