Professional Grade Disc Golf Course Opens in Memory of Darren Butcher

The grand opening of Darren’s Memorial Golf Course and the first disc golfing tournament in the history of Colorado City will take place on June 25th. The 90-person tournament, with some of the highest ranked disc golf players in the United States, will begin with player check-in at 7:30 a.m.

Tattered and worn with the scars of having served their duty, several American flags will be relinquished for disposal with all the respect they deserve on Saturday, June 18. Flags no longer suitable to represent the nation are retired in a dignified manner, during a traditional burning.

RFPD 5K Fire Run This Saturday

This Saturday, June 4, Rye Fire Protection District will be hosting the first annual Colorado City Fire Run 5K. The run will take place at the Green Horn Mountain Park in Colorado City with registration beginning at 8:30 and the run beginning shortly after around 9:00.

Colorado City/Rye Lions Award Scholarships

The Colorado City/Rye Lions Club attended the Rye High School Senior Awards ceremony on May 18, 2022 and were proud to award three $1,000 scholarships to the following seniors: Will Fikan: This student has lettered seven consecutive times in academics and is in the STEP program.
