Pueblo County commissioners last Tuesday got the ball rolling on what will be the largest capital construction project in county history — a nearly $200 million project to fund a new county jail and roadway connecting Pueblo West to Pueblo.

Twenty-four-year-old Cristian Jojola, Albuquerque, won the first Darren Butcher Memorial Tournament at the newly opened Disc Golf Park in Butcher’s name last Saturday, with a victory on the 5th hole of sudden death over Russ Birdsall of Northglenn, Colorado.

Clark Encourages Others to Try Xeriscaping

When Ada Clark became concerned about possible water shortages in the Colorado City area, she decided she wanted to lead by example and try xeriscaping. “I want to encourage others to do this so we don’t use our water foolishly,” Clark shared.

Local Lakes are Well-Stocked with Fish

Colorado’s fishing opportunities are as diverse as its terrain. The Greenhorn Valley is blessed to have both Lake Isabel and Lake Beckwith fully stocked for our summertime fishing entertainment.

Dam Information Report Added to CCMD Meetings

Colorado City Metropolitan District Board voted approval of Resolution 07-2022, which adopted a change in the meeting agenda so that a report of dam and water storage conditions will be read at each bimonthly CCMD meeting.

Last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we spent time in the Buena Vista area. One of our primary purposes was to find Turquoise Lake.
