Musical Community Productions (MCP), made up of 65-70 local Pueblo members, is producing its 32nd annual Christmas production this year. The heart-warming classic, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” takes the audience back to 1941, when live radio was a part of the family.

RHS Receives Governor’s Bright Spot Award

Rye High School was one of 16 Colorado schools receiving Bright Spot Award funds from Governor Polis on November 2. RHS will receive $50,000 and was recognized as being among the best in science achievement. The money comes from the Federal Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER).

Rosemary Holland Silver Heart, Purple Heart, and Vietnam Marine Service Medal recipient Stan Abel was presented with a Valor Quilt by the Colorado City Scrappy Ladies Quilt Guild. Abel was a Marine in Vietnam. Abel shared his Marine career experiences.

The history of Veterans Day began as Armistice Day. World War One armistice was declared on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. In November of 1919, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed November 11th as Armistice Day in the US.
