Rye Nine Open Home Season with Double Header Win

Valley baseball fans had to be pleased with the home opener on March 26, when the Thunderbolts downed Rocky Ford 7-0 and 11-1. Brock Benz got the win in the 7-0 opener, pitching four scoreless innings and striking out nine batters; while walking only three and giving up two hits.

The three Rye High School winter sports were rife with talent and other coaches in the Santa Fe League were well aware of it as eight Thunderbolts were voted first team all-conference with a pair gathering honorable mention status.

Rye Girls Place Third in the State 2A Basketball Tournament

The Rye High School Girls Basketball team claimed the 3rd place trophy in the Colorado 2A state championship games held at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland last Thursday, Friday and Saturday with an edge of your seat 56-55 victo ry over the Limon Badgers.

Rye Boys Run into the End of the Road at Yuma

The Rye High School boysbasketball season ended in Yuma at the hands of Vail Christian who downed the locals 72-53 in Region 1 action. Rye led 21-18 at the end of the first quarter, but VC outscored them the last three quarters to win the game.

PCSO Polar Plunge Raises Nearly $23,000 for Special Olympics

PUEBLO, COLO – After a two-year hiatus because of COVID-19 the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Polar Plunge returned to the 42- degree water of the Pueblo Reservoir on March 5.

RHS Magnificent Seven are State Bound

The #5 ranked Rye High School Girls basketball team rolled through the regional tournament they hosted at Rye High School and will face #4 seeded Cedaredge at 8:45 a.m. this morning at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland. On March 4, the Lady T’s defeated Front Range Christian 51-14.
