Rye and Fowler Head for Undefeated League Showdown

The Rye High School Girls’ volleyball team continued their perfect record in the Santa Fe League and are on a collision course for a battle on the road with Fowler who is also undefeated in the Santa Fe League.

RYE HIGH SCHOOL The Rye High School football team dropped their nonleague home opener to Salida 24-14 last Friday night. Like the week before the Thunderbolts played superior football to their opponent in one half of the game. Last week in their season opener, Rye came from behind for the victory.

Golf Team Ends Regular Season with Bronze Medal

The regular season for the Rye High School Boys’ Golf Team ended with a pair of tournaments this last week. On September 7th the team attended the Rocky Ford Invitational tournament. The Thunderbolts placed 4th in the tournament. Swink took home the team title.

RYE HIGH SCHOOL The Rye High School cross country team joined nearly 400 runners at the Joe I. Vigil XC Invitational 2022 sponsored by Adams State University in Alamosa. One hundred and ninety six boys competed in the 5000 meter run won by Isaac Higareda of Alamosa.

Cheyenne Stampede and Heat Build Cross Country Toughness

The Rye High School Cross Country team battled 95-degree heat and a 2A-3A field of over 350 runners to develop mental toughness in the Cheyenne Mountain Stampede pre-state Cross Country Invitational. Eleven Thunderbolt runners competed in the huge event.

Rye Wins League Match

The Rye High School volleyball team stayed in the unbeaten column in the Santa Fe League and stayed positive but struggled to read the Lamar offense and dropped their first match of the season on the road. On August 30, Rye swept Swallows Charter Academy, 25- 12; 25- 17; and 25- 19 at Swallows.

Rye Eleven Win Come-from-Behind Opener

The Rye High School football team used the opening game of the season, on the road at Manitou Springs to exhibit determination and a never say die attitude as they came from a 20-0 deficit in the second quarter to notch a road win 28-20. The game did not start out well for Rye.
