Our next sale will be in about 6 - 8 months. All donations would be gratefully appreciated. The only things we cannot take are t.v and computer items, damaged or dirty furniture and broken items.

Please contact Kathleen Helm, 719-676-2531 to drop off items and I will be glad to meet you at the building at a time that is convenient for us both.

Kathleen Helm, Hatchet Ranch Letter to the Editor:

The ONLY way to counter the conspiracy theories and ensure the integrity of the voting process is what you have recommended: Vote in person, WITH a legal voter ID. Absentee ballots should be allowed, but should be the exception.

Thank you for your column.

John Zondlo Oh, Here We Go Again…

'… And everything is goin' wrong, oh, no; Nobody knows the way you feel about it; 'Cause only you know, you can't leave it alone; Oh, here we go again; Oh, here we go again; I thought what we had was over; Here we go again, ooh, hoo; Oh, here we go again…' Such were the words of the song sung by the late Ray Charles.

The song has a love theme, but I'm using it out of context to send a message to Washington. We just got through an election and the winning candidates are not yet in place, but it looks like it's going to be 'business as usual,' a.k.a. investigations.

Even before the all ballots were counted, the House gave a press conference announcing their proposed investigations of the current administration, including a sitting president and family.

Now, the presentation wasn't bad, but thinking back on their past track record: IRS; Benghazi; and the few other brushes with the Obama administration, it provided face time for a few congressmen, but they ended up going nowhere.

Consequently, the socalled independent Justice Department seemed to up the ante – they've assigned a special prosecutor to investigate a former president.

Again consequently, days after the former president had 'thrown his hat in the ring' for 2024. Now a special prosecutor is a Congress-created Frankenstein's monster tasked to go looking for a crime. This entity comprised of an inordinate amount of attorneys and a bottomless pit of taxpayer money is set loose on private citizens having to come up with private attorneys and possibly losing everything trying to defend themselves against accusations, real or imagined, with a strategy of intimidation or coercion, it brings pressure on given individuals to admit to wrongdoing of others. I'm sure many readers remember the original special prosecutor sicked on the former president, the 22-monthlong Mueller investigation costing in the area of $40 million, finding nothing on the former president, but ruining other lives along the way.

Oh, here we go again...

Enough said.
