“ The girls played well last week and kept the level of play high on our side,” assessed Head Coach Michele Roy. “ This week will be a good challenge for us but we have been preparing for both St.
Mary’s and Fowler for a couple of weeks. We lost to both these teams last year so the girls have something to prove.”
St. Mary’s is currently 4-1 and faced the Thunderbolts on the road Tuesday night, that game will be covered in next week’s View. Fowler (6-2) will travel to Rye tonight (Thursday). Fowler is ranked #11 in 2A and St.
Mary’s is ranked #21.
Roy continued, “We are at the halfway point of our season this week. The key for us to be successful is for every girl to play the role they are being asked to play, whether that’s on the bench or on the court. I have a team full of girls who are used to getting a lot of playing time, and sometimes it’s challenging for them to not play as much. During preseason, the girls set a goal of winning state and they understood that means I will go with the best six on court this season, utilizing everyone’s strengths. So, remembering this and staying positive is what I need from the girls.”
