Ettleman Update Same as the Last Update

is seen

On September 1, after several attempts including an email to the Pueblo Chief of Police, the Greenhorn Valley View received an update on the Fred Ettleman murder investigation. That response

below: “I have again checked with our investigations division, and they continue to assure me that Mr. Ettleman’s murder is still a very active investigation. I know an arrest has not been made as quickly as any of us would like but, unfortunately, many times it takes a long time before enough evidence or the right evidence can be used to make an arrest and successfully prosecute someone for murder.” Officer Roger Schneider On the same day a business associate and friend of Fred’s, inquiring about the same matter, got the email below: “Good afternoon, I know it has taken me some time to respond to your email, but I assure you it was not ignored, and neither was the information you provided.

Mr. Ettleman's murder is still a very active investigation but unfortunately, sometimes it takes a long time to either get the right evidence, receive reports from outside agencies, or put together a strong enough case against someone to apply for an arrest warrant. While I am not privy to the specifics in this case, I consistently check for updates as I know there are several people who want to see justice served and the right person arrested. I assure you, detectives are working diligently to solve this case.

Thank you for your understanding and your interest.” Officer Roger Schneider.

The next paragraph is the last update we printed several months ago: Ongoing Investigation Continues on Ettleman Murder “ The investigation is ongoing,” shared Crime Prevention Officer Roger Schneider of the Pueblo Police Department. “Although detectives have a suspect or suspects, being able to prove enough to make an arrest is proving difficult.”

Schneider went on to say that detectives were still evaluating evidence and looking for witnesses to help with the investigation, but were facing several obstacles.

Schneider closed with, “I was assured the case is still very active.”

We will continue to pursue the matter.
