Like last week, the Rye High School girls’ golf team placed 4th in a 19-team tournament. The event this week was the Pueblo East High School Lady Golf Invitational.
Pueblo West captured the championship with a score of 277. Abrianna Lippis of Canon City won the individual gold medal with a score of 83. Lippis is a junior.
Emma Garcia placed highest for the Thunderbolts finishing in 9th with a score of 94. Kelsy Stribling came in 13th with a score of 98 and Olivia Donlon shot a 106 for a 23rd place finish. Kenzie Nielson shot a 108 (26th) and Hannah David shot a 127 (45th).
All five of the RHS girls are freshmen or sophomores.
Thursday the team travels to LaJunta for league tournament action. On Friday they will be on the home Hollydot Course playing in the Pueblo County Invitational.
